Stallholder Regulations
(Abridged version)
This agreement aims to provide a clear understanding of the conditions
of holding a stall at The Channon Craft Market. It also aims to maximise
a safe, responsible and enjoyable market for stallholders, visitors and
staff.
• Public Liability is compulsory, if you have current insurance,
proof of cover is required. If not, cover is available with your site
fee.
• Your stall fee is payable to the market staff from 9 AM on market
day and fees are required for collection after this time.
• The stallholder agrees to confine the operation of their stall
to the limit of their designated stall area and not to carry out any activity
that may be dangerous to persons or property.
• Stallholders are required to have in place and on display “Safe
working procedures” for employees whose work requires handling of/or
production of goods/services whilst at The Channon Craft Market. For more

• The use of generators is prohibited.
• Excessive noise is not permitted.
• The selling of tobacco, alcohol, illegal products, cigarettes,
lighters, matches are prohibited at the market.
• Items prohibited from sale or given away for free include: dogs,
puppies, cats, kittens, drugs, cigarettes, firearms and alcohol. The sale
of knives or blades to anyone under 18 is prohibited.
• Coronation Park is an Alcohol Free Area, drinking of alcohol
within the park is prohibited.
• No vehicles allowed on market grounds between 8.45am and 3.00pm
(3.30pm during daylight saving hours), emergency vehicles accepted.
• Speeding must be restricted to 10 km/h in the market and parking
areas to provide a safe environment for everyone.
• All stallholders must take their rubbish with them and leave
their site clean. This assists the organisation of The Channon Craft Market.
We encourage you to use the recycle bins that are distributed throughout
the market.
• Each stall holder, service user, staff member is free to raise
and have resolved any complaints and disputes that they may have regarding
The Channon Craft Market or its management. See Complaints and Disputes
policy available at the office.
• Specific approval by Market Management is required before:
*Stall content is added to or changed from that notified on declaration.
*Stall space is shared with another vendor
*Food, drinks, consumables, livestock are sold or given away
*A stall is sold or transferred
• Electricity: Stallholders who access electricity are required
to follow safe working procedures when connecting and disconnecting from
supply. Leads must be heavy duty; test tagged every 12 months with a minimum
current rating of 10 amps’. Leads must not be in contact to any
metal part or pipes and must not lie on the ground. All electrical items
offered for sale must be test tagged in the last 12 months to certify
they are in safe working order.
• The market operator, management and staff will not be held liable
for any loss because of cancellation, postponement, rescheduling, late
opening, evacuation or early closure of the market in the event of an
emergency.
• The stallholder holds harmless and indemnifies the market operator
and property owners, their employees and agents, for any claims, actions
and incidents of any kind arising because of the operation of the market.
• Failure to comply with market regulations and/or dangerous and
/or abusive behaviour may result in stall cancellation.
• The market management reserves the right to evict people acting
in a dangerous and/or abusive manner.
EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
In the event of an emergency situation involving evacuation of area’s,
stallholders, their employees and associates will leave the market premises
on foot and assemble either at “the reserve” situated between
Coronation Park and The Channon Village or behind the office near the
council toilets. Occupational Health and Safety Officers will be in each
area to assist with further directions.
