The Channon Craft Market is a non-profit community organisation with
a “Make, Bake or Grow It” policy that aims to support those
stallholders who make all they sell.
Stallholders are reminded that priority is given to stalls that support
this philosophy.
As of August 2001 stall holders are permitted to sell some goods other
than what they have made, providing that the goods are appropriate to
their craft or service and constitute no more than 30% of their stall
product.
Limited sites are available for second hand product stalls.
The Channon Craft Market committee and staff reserves the right to not
allocate stalls to those who do not meet the above criteria. However,
there is some room for negotiation if prior approval is gained from the
committee for special interest stalls.
The Channon Craft Market reserves the right to accept or reject any stallholder
who does not adhere to the market regulations and guidelines set down
by The Channon Craft Market Management Committee and contained within
this document.

not allow domestic animals to be sold or given away. They are also not
permitted in the privately owned car park. Do not leave your animals in
your vehicles. Leave them at home.
ELECTRICITY
Electricity is only available by prior arrangement with the committee.
Stallholders need to be aware that the supply of electricity to Coronation
Park is limited and no alteration or addition to electrical equipment
is permitted without application to and approval by the Committee, pending
the currently available power supply. Power leads must be of correct form,
length and type and must be suspended at least 2m above the ground. Leads
must not be in contact with metal and each stall must have their own certified
circuit breaker. All stallholders are requested to have their leads checked
and tagged by a qualified electrician on a regular basis.
FOOD STALLS
Market stallholders are bound by the requirements of the Food Act and
Regulations 1998. These requirements place direct responsibility on persons
who sell food. Failure to comply may render the seller liable to large
fines. Vendors of food stalls, which cause injury or illness, may be sued
for damages. TCCM can provide hot food stallholders with product and public
liability when attending this market. All stalls selling food are required
to be licensed by Lismore City Council Market Food Stall Code. Food stalls
cannot increase the range of food they sell without first making a request
in writing to the committee. This includes all drinks and ice blocks.
Cans and glass bottles are not permitted within the market.
GARBAGE
All stallholders must take their rubbish with them and leave their site
clean. This assists the organisation of The Channon Craft Market. We encourage
all stallholders to use environmentally friendly products. Please encourage
the public to use the recycle bins that are distributed throughout the
market.

be in jeopardy and a fee of $11 per site will be charged. If you cannot

66886 433 (office) market day - 66886 122
MARKET HOURS on MARKET DAY

vehicles except those on designated car sites must leave the grounds by
8.30am and no further vehicular movement allowed until 3pm. During the
summer months of November, December, January and February the closing
time is extended until 3.30pm. Sites will be held until 7.30am. Vacant
sites after this time will be allocated to waiting casuals. The markets
finish at 3pm (unless summer months) and all stalls must leave the grounds
by 6pm. All vehicles are to be removed from visitor’s car park by
5pm. A fee of $20.00 for reopening this car park will be charged.
MARKET MEETINGS
The meetings are held monthly at The Channon Children's Centre or at
the market shed
at 7.30pm on the Tuesday following the markets. Notification of venue
will be in
the monthly newsletter. Our management committee relies on the support
of
stallholders, locals and charities to be involved in the decision making
process
of The Channon Craft Market Association. Everyone is welcome.
MEMBERSHIP
All allocated stallholders are invited to join the association and attend
the monthly general meeting. Membership is a $11.00 joining fee and a
$5.50 renewal per year. Membership fees are due and payable by 30 June
each year.
NEWSLETTER
Please read the market newsletter as this will keep you up to date with
any changes or additions to market regulations. Stallholders may also
advertise in the newsletter when selling their business for a small fee-please
contact the secretary if you wish to access this opportunity-2 weeks notice
prior to the market is required.
PARKING
Stallholders must park in the areas set beside for them. Lack of parking
has always been a problem for the public visiting the market. Stallholders
parking on the road or in the front car park occupy a space which may
be used many times over by visitors to the market during the day. There
are two areas set aside for stallholder parking: one is behind the oval,
which is secured; the other is in the main car park beside the stone toilets.
Your co-operation in this matter will allow ample space for visitors enjoying
the market. Cars must vacate the visitor’s car park by 5 pm. A fee
of $20.00 applies to reopening this car park.
PUBLIC/PRODUCT LIABILITY
Stallholders who have obtained their own insurance policies are requested
to supply a photocopy of it to the market office. TCCM can provide public
liability to stall holders and product liability for a majority of products
with the exclusion of TOOLS, MUSIC, BANDS, HEALTH, MASSAGE, FACE PAINTING,
TOY’S AND ELECTRICAL GOODS at a cost of $5.50 per market.
REQUESTS FOR PERMANENT STALLS
Application for allocated sites can be made with the staff at the office
on market day after the stallholder has attended three consecutive markets.
All requests are placed on a waiting list, and in turn will be allocated
a site as soon as available. Priority is given to local art, craft and
fresh produce. Entry to the market on a permanent basis will depend on
the availability of allocated sites (see electricity). HO1 to HO7 sites
are larger sites with a number of half sites available. New stallholders
pay a $5.50 deposit on receiving a site. This fee carries on each month
and reserves a site for the next market.
SALE OF STALL
Stallholders who sell their business are reminded that communication
with the market committee is essential. This will allow the market office
to update information regarding new owners’ contact details, insurance
etc. Stallholders are reminded that TCCM reserves the right to relocate
any stall on the sale of that business, and it is imperative that this
information is passed onto the new/perspective owners. New stallholders
cannot alter any items for sale without prior contact with the committee.
SETTING UP
Please unload and move your vehicle before setting up your stall. We
ask that stallholders be considerate of others and not block traffic movements
in the market place. All stallholders to park in stallholder car parking
designated area which is situated behind the market grounds or in the
back of the public car park.
SITE AREA
We are required to keep all access areas clear for emergency vehicles
and disability access. It is important you do not encroach over the front
lines of the stall area allocated.
SPEEDING
Speed must be restricted to 10km/h in the market and parking areas to
provide a safe environment for everyone. Only stallholders that are in
playground vicinity nearest oval will be allowed access through road from
3.00pm – 4.30pm. CHILDREN PLAY IN THIS AREA – PLEASE BE ALERT!
STALL FEE COLLECTION
Please bring your stall fee with you as stallholders who repeatedly fail
to have their stall fees ready on the first collection disrupt the organisation
of the market. If you continue to be late with your stall fee, your site
will be in jeopardy. Your co-operation is appreciated in this matter.
STALLS
Stallholders must not add to or change the range of goods on their stall
other than those goods listed on the stall holder’s declaration
without first making a request in writing to the committee.
STALL HOLDERS DECLARATIONS
The information collected is necessary for the smooth running of the
markets and will need to be updated when necessary. It enables us to contact
you and provides a service for customers looking for a particular service
or item. If you change your address or telephone number, please advise
the office so we can alter our records. Once more, we remind you to declare
any changes/additions to products you offer for sale. All stallholders
are bound by their stall holder’s declaration, and must abide by
the Copyright and Trademarks Act.
